Medical Office Scheduler
Scheduler
This position supports our clinical staff with
patient specific administrative tasks. This position will be responsible for
scheduling, documentation, insurance verification, and other administrative
tasks as needed.
Essential
Job Functions:
o
Answer incoming
calls, which may include screening calls, taking messages, and providing
information to patients, physicians, providers, hospitals, and staff.
o
Document
correspondence in the patient's medical record. Update demographic and
insurance information in the Athena EHR.
o
Verify insurance and network status using payer
portals and/or calling insurances
o
Coordinate internal schedules and booking patient
appointments.
o
Ensure all necessary medical documentation is
processed according to standard procedures.
o
Ensure communication with patients and internal
departments are accounted for and each party has a clear understanding of
pertinent information in a timely manner.
o
Coordinate with clinic staff to follow up on patient
requests.
o
Responsible for administrative duties including
scanning paperwork, data entry, and general organization.
o
Maintain patient confidence and protect business
operations by keeping information confidential.
o
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
o
High school diploma or equivalent
o
1 – 3 years scheduling experience
o
Possess an understanding Insurance Plans ie Medicare vs Medicare
Advantage
o
Computer skills- EMR and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
o
Problem-solving skills
o
Excellent Interpersonal and problem-solving skills
o
Strong attention to detail
Preferred
Qualifications:
Athena EMR experience preferred
Physical
Requirements
o Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
o Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

environment.

standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
